Auditions
- Acceptance into the Ames Children's Choir is based on interest, commitment, and musical ability. Children ages 8-16 who love to sing, can match pitch and are committed to attending rehearsals are invited to audition.
- Auditions are held in January, May, and August of each year. For more information or to make an appointment, please contact 515-290-1422.
Tuition
- Tuition covers the following costs: rental of formal and informal attire, ACC red shirt, retreats, one 8 x 10 photo, building and music rental, instruction, and administration.
- Tuition rate per academic year is:
Concert Choir $450
Chorale $300
Prep Choir $275
- Discounts of 10% are granted to each singer who has a sibling in any choir in the program.
- Scholarships: A limited number of partial tuition scholarships will be awarded based on demonstrated financial need and a completed application.
Other Expenses
- Concert Attire:
-An attire deposit, which can be refunded at the end of the year
or applied to the following year if attire is returned in good condition.
-A small attire fee ($5-10) which goes toward the attire fund.
-Singers are responsible for buying part of their concert attire as specified on the attire
information sheet.
- Concert Tickets: It is expected that each choir family will attend our Holiday Concert and Spring Concert each season, and families are encouraged to sell additional tickets to family, friends and others interested in the art of children's singing.
- Tours: Concert Choir tours are charged separately from tuition.
