Message from Dr. Christina Svec

Dear Concert Choir Parents and Singers,

I’m thrilled to announce all of our upcoming singing adventures that have already been scheduled. For the Fall semester, we’ve received several invitations to sing at local celebrations including the ISU Sigma Alpha Iota Toys for Tots Benefit Concert, Good Neighbor Emergency Assistance Concert, and Celebrating the Reformation event. We will have more events to announce for the Spring as we get closer.

I’m elated to announce and confirm our plans for the next two summers.

Summer 2018 – First Annual Texas International Choral Festival!!!!!

Next Summer (2018), we will be attending the First Annual Texas International Choral Festival (flyer attached)! This trip will include singing with fabulous choral ensembles as well as working with the seminal researcher for the female adolescent singing voice, Dr. Lynn Gackle. We’ll also get to visit Six Flags over Texas, a baseball game, and stay at the Great Wolf Lodge. This trip is optional for choir members, but we want as many to come along as possible. Therefore, stay tuned for fundraising opportunities! As you can see from the brochure, the early bird price saves $50 if we commit by September 30th. The fee is all-inclusive, with the exception of traveling there and back. We’re currently researching travel costs (driving vs. flying) so that we can give you that final number.

Summer 2019 – IRELAND!!!!!

The following Summer (2019), we will be taking an international trip to Ireland! We had originally discussed doing an Ireland and/or Iceland tour during the 2018 Summer, but I was not comfortable with the cost and limited time to raise the money so that all could participate. We will now have just under 2 years to raise the money. Again, stay tuned for fundraising opportunities!

I’m thrilled to make music with your singers this coming year, and I can’t wait to get started! Please make sure to register as soon as possible, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
